Jagannatha Rath Yatra is a unique celebration and is considered by many as the grandest of all festivals. Saints and the scriptures have repeatedly glorified the sanctity of this special festival. The sanctity of the festival is such that a touch of the chariot or even the ropes with which the chariot is pulled is considered enough to confer the results of several pious deeds or penance for ages.
Instead of chariot, we will be using Palanquin for His Lordship to ride in and around the temple premise and visit homes of devotees. The Yatra for Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra devi will begin at the temple at 11AM.
