One holy name for every citizen of Idaho

 

On the new year day devotees in Boise, Idaho assembled at the temple and chanted 1,772,928 holy names for the welfare of Idaho. One mantra contains 16 holy names and 108 mantras make one round of Japa. So one round contains 1728 holy names. Devotees chanted 1026 rounds from 10:00 AM in the morning to 6:30 PM. At 6:30 PM we had an ecstatic Kirtan during aarati. His Holiness Hanuman Swami was present for the Japathon and he was the inspiration for devotees to chant nice rounds.

Several members from the community visited the temple from early morning to 8:00 PM and each of those contributed some rounds to the Japathon.
